I grew up in RI and spent many summers at our family cabin in upstate NY. Believe it or not I was more of a tomboy, collecting lizards, scooping up minnows, fishing & tubing on the Delaware River in the Catskill mountains. I've climbed Mt. Monadnock twice, went white water rafting on Snake River in Colorado and have taken a hot air balloon ride. I used to love camping out in tents, cooking meals over a fire, mountain biking was a big thing for me too. My favorite vacation was in Costa Rica with my cousin, Dyanna. We went on a zip line through the jungle, took atv's out on the beach & went horseback riding. I love the sun, but don't like to sit and bake in it. I'd rather find the most adventureous thing to do and DO IT!!! My favorite pastimes include reading, walking, shopping, traveling, spending time with my dogs Piper & Sydney, and watching movies that make me laugh till I cry. Steve Carell, Jack Black, Will Ferrell and Zack Galifianakis are my heroes when it comes to comedy. I gave up my biggest vice, coffee, 6 months ago just to prove to myself that I could. I love denim jeans and am obsessed with finding the perfect pair! I enjoy doing charity work with a variety of different charities and actually have the most fun planning the events and watching everything come together. It's amazing what people are willing to do and give when a cause is near and dear to their hearts. I dream of traveling to Paris, New Zealand, Bali and Australia. I find the moon to be absolutely mesmerizing. Summer night sounds are the most beautiful to me. Leaving the windows open, catching the sparkle of fireflies and hearing the chirping of crickets and cicadas reminds me of being a kid and camping outside.
My childhood dream was to become an actress or a host on Entertainment Tonight (I idolized Mary Hart!), my parents weren't big fans of this idea so I floated through college on a wing & a prayer, direction-less and frustrated. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. I ended up with a degree in Speech Communication, go figure, I like to talk and that I knew for sure. As I got older, I read tons of self-help books and really latched on to the concept that positive energy and motivating yourself and others could be a way of life, a career even. My new goal was to become a motivational speaker.
I became a Training Specialist at Foxwoods Casino in CT. I trained employees on team building, improving work relationships & time management. I loved it! A few things I knew for sure: I like to talk and make people feel good about themselves and, I'm not a nine to fiver! I really enjoyed working different shifts, having my schedule change.
QVC was the only watchable show on at 2 or 3 in the morning. I saw Lisa Robertson selling Smashbox Cosmetics and suddenly found my next goal. I auditioned for a Show Host position in February, 2000 and was offered the job a month later. I've been at QVC for 11 years now...can you believe it??? I love what I do, especially when I host beauty shows. I thoroughly enjoy and have a passion for everything related to color cosmetics, skin care & hair care. The beauty industry is fascinating to me!!! I spend alot of time even off-air, researching beauty products, new sciences and innovations, and I travel regularly to NYC and Los Angeles seeking out the best in the beauty industry.
